There are so many ways students can make their own animated movies. Digital cameras, software and handheld devices like games and smart phones are all capable of making short flicks.
In this program all that is needed it some paper and a pencil. Students will start with a simple two frame (picture) animation that will get things moving within a couple of minutes. They will then be taught some principles of animation, shown some different methods and styles and finally get to put them into action with a flipbook of their own. What the students take away from this is the knowledge that they could do this on their own anytime with or without the devices available for animation. (6 years+ 1.5 or 3 hours)
Using stop-motion animation, students can bring their toys to life. In this workshop participants use their own or share camera, ipods or tablets to record short animated videos of their own.
